Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Support the engineering director to provide safety engineering support services for all the phases of the aircraft life cycle, whilst ensuring integration with the overall development process.

• Review and research on various certification specifications, standards, and guidance material, and adapt past knowledge and experiences, to define a database of commonality and differences between different ways of working.

• Assist in developing tailored safety engineering processes and methods suitable for design and certification of emerging technologies and projects such as eVTOL, hydrogen powered or fully electric fixed wing manned and/or unmanned aircraft.

• Perform safety assessments to support the design and development of systems, sub-systems and equipment.

• Derive safety requirements, facilitate and perform review/ validation activities and ensure that these requirements are verified by the applicable stakeholders to the standard expected by the Certification Authorities.

• Work and integrate with other engineering teams, assist, and advise them on safety related matters as necessary.

• Liaise with the suppliers as necessary and review supplier documentation.

• Align and manage expectations of the Certification Authorities in co-ordination with the certification teams.

• Engage with management and/or head of design to present the safety related issues, action plans and obtain necessary approvals.

• Produce safety assessment, status, or summary reports to be used as deliverables for design reviews, status of management and for certification authorities.

Skills & Qualifications:

• At least an undergraduate degree in aerospace / aeronautics/ related engineering discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in performing different types of safety and integration activities.

• Experience and Knowledge of ARP4754 and ARP4761.

• Experience in EASA and/ or FAA regulations such as FAR/CS 23, 25, SC-VTOL and SC-Light etc. Not all are required.

• Tools: Experience of using safety software tools to perform fault-tree, reliability predictions, and as well engineering tools for requirements management, model-based engineering etc.

Someone who has/is/able to:

• Proficient in English both written and spoken. Knowledge of other European language would be beneficial.

• Team player who could communicate effectively and work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

• Work systematically, methodically, and autonomously.

• Keen to share knowledge, have discussions/healthy debates and proactive to gather necessary information Innovative with strategic mindset.
